Fundraising Ideas For Shy People Offers Ways To Promote Your Charity With Little Or No Direct Contact

Fundraising ideas for shy people

might not be as hard are you think. Are you a volunteer or member of a charitable institution or non profit, but a little on the shy side when it comes to talking to strangers or soliciting donations?  Asking for money can seem intimidating and uncomfortable for many people.  If you fall into this category, you’re certainly not alone.  For some, being painfully shy is not only a small, occasional nuisance, but a factor that can seriously inhibit their ability to raise money and find relaxed ways to interact with the community and reach targeted goals.  If this sounds like you, don’t worry.  You don’t always have to be a social butterfly in order to accomplish your mission.  Here, we’ll explore some creative ways in which you can organize fundraisers that require little or no direct personal contact so you can stay within your comfort zone.  Now, don’t think you can get away with total silence!  With fundraising ideas for shy people communication is essential to fundraising success.  However, there are ways to get your point across without having to go door-to-door, cold calling, or dealing with people face to face during public fundraisers.  Let’s look at some of these possibilities.

Create a fundraising team or have volunteers do the contact work for you.

If you feel you aren’t assertive enough, at this point, to approach others effectively, perhaps create a team, board, or group of volunteers who can handle these types of tasks for you.  Let’s face it.  Some of us were born for socializing, while others simply were not and our strengths fall in other areas.  So, get help from others.  Assign specific tasks to different people while you deal with responsibilities that better suit your abilities.

Use written marketing materials, such as postcards, flyers, newsletters, or emails.

Put your writing skills to good use and create marketing materials for your non profit that require no direct contact.  Communicate your charity’s needs and how it’s helping support its’ cause through impact stories and hard-hitting statements that appeal to the hearts of others.  This can be accomplished through mailing out flyers or postcards or using the internet to distribute newsletters and emails about the importance of your organization and how it’s helping the lives of others in needed ways.  You can set up a payment processing system online so you can accept donations over the internet.  You could also set up a post office box where supporters can mail in donations.

Create internet fundraising events.

This is one of my favorite fundraising ideas for shy people. With a little bit of internet savvy, you can set up your own fundraising activities online.  The ideas here are endless!  Online auctions, online photography contest, or internet scavenger hunts are just a few of many, many ideas to explore.  You could also offer

t-shirts, hats, buttons, or other items through print-on-demand shops, such as cafepress.com, that allow you to create customized apparel and other merchandise.  Another option is to offer items for sale that you purchase wholesale or have drop shipped through wholesalers that require no upfront money.  You only pay when someone purchases an item, and then the company ships that item to the buyer.

For those who are shy at heart, we have an incredible, invaluable resource that can offer these things as well as a world of solutions when it comes to your fundraising needs.  It’s even FREE to sign up!  Visit Charitable-auctions.com and sign up now to have access to the IdonateToCharity.org online auction site and gain the right to use several fundraising resources that can offer you many possibilities for fundraising without ever even having to step away from your computer!  You can accept donations online through our secure payment processing or set up fundraising auctions.

We’ve even hooked up with a wholesale drop shipper that offers thousands of products to our members at deeply discounted, wholesale prices.  You can sell these items in auctions or buy them for your own personal use.  You don’t even have to ship them.  They will drop ship every order directly to your customers for you.  How easy is that?!  At Charitable-auctions.com, you’ll be able to easily create fundraisers where you can contact supporters via a simple email.  There’s no need to solicit potential donors through phone calls or direct contact.  Simply market your auction storefront or fundraising page online and through other marketing materials to drive people to your fundraising events so they can donate to your worthwhile cause.
